15 min. || repertoire

Long: 60 minutes

10 min. || scales: all you know

5 min. || long tones

5 min. || brass: lip slurs

    woodwinds: register exercises

30 min. || repertoire

10 min. || cool down: long tones, scales

  • Pencil...for notes to self

  • METRONOME! (Use it.)

  • Tuner: sometimes

PRACTICE TIPS
  • Start slow on challenging repertoire before getting faster.

  • Don't skip scales & technique. Most important!

  • Listen to recordings.

SCALES

Below are links to scale PDFs. Play scales in the most appropriate octave for your instrument. For a greater challenge, try playing scales in two octaves. As you become more comfortable with a scale, begin practicing it at a faster tempo (just make sure you keep a steady tempo). ​
